Garret joined the practice in January 2000, having worked for a number of years with the Smurfit Group in Dublin in their Finance Department. Having received his ACCA qualification, he decided to relocate home to Galway. In 2003 Garret became a partner and now manages the taxation side of the practice.

PAS currently employs ten people including the two partners.

In conjunction with establishing PAS the practice Padraig Considine has also established a very successful training business and the following is a brief outline:

He has branched out into training and worked with the Social Welfare (contact name Donal Conlon 091-564893), Galway Rural Development (contact name Mary Claire Brennan 091-844335), Galway City Partnership (contact name Una Monaghan 091-566617) and Cumas Connemara Teo (contact name Joe 091-574353).

Also Padraig instructs small business people in how to set up bookkeeping systems and advising them on taxation, VAT, PAYE/PRSI etc.

In addition he has set up a training program for Galway Rural Development who administers funding under the leader two program. He instructed all grant recipients on the procedure for drawing down their leader grant. This involved creating a training manual and meeting the grant recipients in groups to discuss their problems. As a result of this, he obtained a contract auditing the actual grant applications and approving them for payment. During this period he worked very closely with Galway Rural Development’s Chief Administrator Mary Claire Brennan. This manual is now an integral part of their system.
